Worm gears are an ideal choice for high-speed reduction and right-angle transmission of motion. They use screw threads to make large reductions to shaft speed while transmitting motion at a right angle. It's essential for the gears and worms to have the same pressure angle and pitch/module to mesh correctly. These worms are compatible with plastic worm gears, making them versatile for various applications.
The speed ratio determines the reduction of output shaft speed, which increases torque. We offer different materials, such as 1045 carbon steel, 303 stainless steel, and 4140 alloy steel worms, to suit your requirements. Carbon steel worms have rolled threads, while hardened 1045 carbon steel worms have ground threads, making them more durable and precise. Stainless steel worms are corrosion-resistant and perfect for damp environments. The 4140 alloy steel worms are mounted on a shaft, with threads ground into the shaft for higher precision and durability.
Our selection also includes cast iron gears and bronze gears. Cast iron gears are strong and durable, while bronze gears have low friction and dissipate heat better than cast iron gears. They're also more corrosion-resistant, ensuring a long service life for both the gear and the worm. Choose from various speed ratios, materials, and precision levels to suit your application.
