High-Speed Servomotor Precision Flexible Shaft Couplings
These high-speed shaft couplings are designed to connect shafts and ball screws to servomotors and stepper motors in applications that require frequent starting and stopping, such as packaging machines, press brakes, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. They handle four times more speed than standard servomotor couplings and consist of aluminum hubs with a flexible fluoroelastomer or nitrile rubber core that dampens vibration and adjusts for misalignment. The couplings remain stiff during machine acceleration and deceleration to maintain accuracy and repeatability, while also resisting backlash to ensure that all of the turning force from the motor is passed on to the connected shaft. The core resists water, petroleum-based chemicals, and inorganic acids, and insulates bearings, encoders, and other shaft components from stray electric current. Clamping screws provide a secure hold without marring shafts, making them useful in applications where shafts are frequently assembled and disassembled.
